Happy New Year to all as we officially begin the New Millenium!! I hope one of your New Year’s resolutions is to attend a P.T.G. meeting. We meet at 7 PM in the library on the dates shown at the right.

Fundraising
The Sally Foster Gift Wrap sale netted the P.T.G. a profit of $1,500. Thank you to all the Gabriel Richard families, friends and staff who ordered merchandise.A big THANKS to Mary Kay Kelly and Marie Paskoules for coordinating this event this year.
The P.T.G. also conducted a magazine fund-raiser again this year. Hopefully this will be an annual event for the P.T.G. We had approximately $5,200 in sales and will realize a profit of approximately $1,900. Thank you to Laurie Sarnacki and Lynn Burgtorf for coordinating this event. If you would be interested in helping out with this fundraiser next year, please let me know. If you have ever wondered how you could get involved in the P.T.G., this would be a good place to get your feet wet!
The P.T.G. Poinsettia Flower Sale was held during December. Again, we had beautiful plants for sale. Thank you to all who placed an order. We were able to raise $436.00 with your support. Thank you Barb Boutain and Jackie Sheridan for co-chairing this event.
The P.T.G. sponsored a pizza hot lunch on October 12 with a profit of $186.25 and again on December 7 with a profit of $205.75. A big thanks to Jackie Brancheau, Alberta Haunert, Debbie Zammit, Pat Murphy, Ann Turinsky and Syl Fileccia who worked the October 12 lunch, and Pat Murphy, Ann Turinsky and Jackie Brancheau who worked the December 7 lunch.

Hospitality
On November 8, the P.T.G. provided hospitality for Open House. It is always fun to work this evening and meet prospective new families. It gives us an opportunity to promote G.R. and show our G.R. pride. Thank you to the following who provided baked goods: Debbie Barr, Mary Borys, Barb Boutain, Annette Boyer, Joyce Buzanowski, Carolyn Caruso, Laurie DeAngelis, Marisa Fileccia, Joan Jacobs, Jan Jaesue, Debbie Johnson, Mary Kay Kelly, Cindy Little, Shelly Meusner, Liz Morden, Sherry Neclis, Marie Paskoules, Carol Paules, Barb Pierson, Ruth Sexsmith, Theresa Sombati, Ann Marie Stein, Colleen Tabalka, Kathy Whalen, Judy Winkler, and Mary Ziembec. Thank you to the following who worked in the kitchen during this event: Barb Boutain, Laurie DeAngelis, Jackie Sheridan, Ann Marie Stein, and Colleen Tabalka. Thank you to Laurie DeAngelis and Jackie Sheridan, our Hospitality Co-Chairs, for coordinating this event.
The P.T.G. will be providing hospitality for Freshmen Registration on February 1 and 6. We are looking for bakers and workers for both days. If you can help, please call Laurie at (734) 675–2227 or Jackie at 313–928–5001.

Committees
The P.T.G. hosted the Annual Staff Christmas Luncheon on December 1 at the Grosse Ile Country Club. Many beautiful gift baskets and centerpieces were donated for the luncheon by: Annette Boyer, Lynn Burgtorf, Laurie DeAngelis, Tina Hanak, Marie Konopka, Nancy Kosch, Roberta Miller, Liz Morden, Beth Mullahy, Pat Murphy, Debbie Rutkowski, Jackie Sheridan, Sue Vokal, Judy Winkler, Debbie Zammit and Kim Zeppa. Thank you all for your very generous donations. Each year the donations keep getting better and better. The staff were very appreciative of the luncheon and gifts. A big thanks to my fellow officers and co-chairs for helping with the coordination of this event. A special thank you to Marlene Moore, for doing our “shopping” in China again this year. The bracelets were beautiful!
A heartfelt thank you to the G.R. staff for the beautiful Christmas platters presented to the P.T.G. board. I know every time I use mine, I will remember the wonderful people behind the gift. Thank you!

Merchandise
Merchandise was available for purchase at the November 8 Open House and will be available for purchase at the Freshmen Registration on February 1 and 6. We have some new merchandise in stock, which consists of long sleeved t-shirts and fleece lined pull over hooded jackets. Thank you to our Merchandise Co-Chairs, Beth Mullahy and Pat Murphy. If you are interested in purchasing merchandise, please call Beth at 734–783–5513 or Pat at 734–246–5791 to place your order and arrange for payment and pick up. A big THANK YOU to Aric Miller of Sweats and Stitches (King & Grange Roads in Riverview) for his generous donation of to the P.T.G. Aric supplies our clothing and merchandise needs. This was a very pleasant surprise!
